Me in a nutshell
I am a 26 year old music teacher fresh out of college and starting to get her life together. Boredom from not working during the school year led me to finally make a healthy change in my life. I started changing my eating habits and exercising a little more. Six months into my lifestyle change I dropped 60 pounds and decided to keep going to be the best I could be.
Why “Run with Chocolate”?
Honest, I have never liked exercising…let alone running. About a year ago I had a small interest in running. That survived a good week until I gave up. But now I have gotten into exercising and decided to give jogging another try (I feel if I call it jogging it doesn’t sound so strenuous). I had heard about the Couch to 5k program and decided to give it a shot. I even downloaded an iPod app that would tell me when to run and when to walk and get me prepared for running…all while allowing me to jam out to some of my awesome playlists. I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it and have decided to keep it up and possibly keep this blog to hold me a little more accountable.
Not only do I want to get into running, I want to continue to get into better shape. I want to become healthier and no longer have those Dr. appointments you pay $50 for 15 minutes of your Dr. telling you that you need to lose weight. Yeah, that was a lot of wasted cash…and time… just to hear that.
Well, that is great but what about the “Chocolate” part?
Simple, while I was out for my *most recent* first day of running, I began to have cravings…not a craving for water, rest, or shade…but a craving for CHOCOLATE! I kept telling myself “If I make it through this, I will have one Ghiradelli chocolate square when I get home”. Let me tell you, that was the best darned square I have ever eaten!
